That's right. Time to be totally counterproductive as I update my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang wordcount tracker every 2 minutes.

You can do it!

Your wordcounter believes in you! ;)

The wordcounter is the devil's handiwork. But I love it so hard.

Haha, as someone who is hopelessly verbose in pretty much every aspect of her life, my usual reaction to the wordcount at the bottom of Word is: ...how many tens of thousands of words now? How did I get here????

Heh, I've experienced that many times as well. But it's funny how, in high school or even undergrad, the common refrain is, "A 2000-word essay? IT'S NOT POSSIBLE, I'LL NEVER GET OUT ALIVE." And then you basically do the same thing with the wordcounter, except that the objective is to get away with writing as little as possible...

Sometimes I still measure my stories in terms of how many 10-page essays they could contain.

Oh, God.

*weeps*

I mean, GO YOU! *flags*! But I'm having the worst instance of sudden and crippling writer's block and augh. *bangs head off desk*

If it makes you feel any better, I've been 3 words short of 7000 for almost 3 weeks. So there's that.

I've got about 1500 words. I got going, it was all bright and shiny and then I abruptly lost the flow of it and now I cannot, apparently, write anything.

It's such a vicious cycle. I started writing the J2BB to avoid working on my WIP that is 2 chapters away from the finish line. And then I wrote the [livejournal.com profile] d_hearts_c challenge to avoid working on J2BB. I'm starting to run out of options.

I would suggest working on other stuff to prevent yourself from dwelling on it, but it's a slippery slope, especially when you find yourself writing phone sex AUs.

Lalala I have about 50 words written. *ignores writing some more* So, I'd say you're well away.
